MB ChB FRACP
Graduate of Otago Medical School. Trained in Infectious Diseases and General Medicine in Christchurch, Hamilton and Auckland. Fellowship in Infectious Diseases, Emory University Hospitals Atalanta GA, USA 1992-6 including research at the Centres for Disease Control.
Dr Raymond’s work for Wakefield and Bowen Hospitals is as a member of the Infection Control and Prevention Service. A focus is working with the surgeons, infection control nurses and other staff to minimise the occurrence of surgical site infections, and to aid learning from those infections which do occur. His practice includes the broad range of infection control and prevention and clinical infectious diseases.
Dr Raymond has worked part-time at Wakefield and Bowen Hospitals since 2000 as part of their Infection Control & Prevention Service. He has worked as an Infectious Diseases & General Physician at Wellington Hospital since 1996. He is active in clinical research, and is an honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Otago Wellington. He is a member of the New Zealand committee of the Australasian Society for Infectious Diseases, and is a senior examiner for the RACP. Previous roles have included Clinical Leadership of the Infectious Diseases & General Medicine Departments.
