– Wakefield Hospital is the first in the region to offer da Vinci Xi-assisted surgeries in Urology, Gynaecology, Head and Neck Surgery, and General Surgery
– Grace Hospital provides robotic-assisted surgery with the da Vinci Xi for Urology and Gynaecology

DePuy Velys Orthopaedic Robot

The aim of robotic-assisted knee replacement is to remove and replace the knee that has been damaged and replace with an implant. This is done by the surgeon utilising the robot to plan and execute the precise replacement suited to your exact anatomy measurements. The robot does not move on its own without the surgeons guidance.

The Velys Orthopaedic Robot is installed in Wakefield and Bowen Hospital.

Hugo™ Robotic-Assisted Surgery (RAS)

We are pleased to announce that Royston Hospital will soon be introducing the Medtronic Hugo™ surgical robot into our theatres. Training is set to commence shortly, with a go-live scheduled within three months. This advanced technology purchase is part of our broader robotic surgery strategy, designed to equip surgeons and staff with the best tools to achieve positive patient outcomes.

The state-of-the-art Hugo™ robot will significantly advance surgical care across urology, gynaecology, and general surgery services by enabling more precise, minimally invasive procedures. This will improve patient outcomes while enhancing surgical efficiency.

The Hugo™ Robotic-Assisted Surgery (RAS) will be installed at Royston Hospital.
