Alyssa is a general cardiologist, with subspecialty training in Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices such as pacemakers, cardiac resynchronisation therapy and defibrillators as well as Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD). She graduated from Otago University in 2009 before working in Taranaki as a junior doctor and then completed her cardiology advanced training in Wellington. She then undertook a Cardiac Rhythm Management fellowship in Wellington Hospital, followed by an ACHD fellowship in Auckland City/Starship Hospital.
