About Dr Hamish McLaren
I’m a dedicated and energetic surgeon, native to Wellington. Although young, I have a wealth of experience and expertise in the field of robotic joint replacement. After completing my sub-specialty training at Prince Charles and St. Vincent’s Hospitals in Brisbane, Australia, I now practice at Hutt Hospital, Boulcott, and Bowen private hospitals in Wellington.
I specialise in primary, complex primary, and revision surgery of the hip and knee. I offer advanced procedures, including robotic total hip replacements, total knee replacements, and unicompartmental knee replacements.
Outside of my professional life, I enjoy a busy family life and have a deep appreciation for the natural environment. I’m an avid ocean enthusiast, and spend my free time spearfishing, line fishing, and exploring the marine life at the Island Bay Marine Reserve. I enjoy running around the bays and dropping down the mountain bike trails around Wellington and the Hutt.
