A remarkable milestone for our team – 1,000 robotic procedures completed on the da Vinci Xi Robotic Surgical System at Wakefield. This achievement reflects years of dedication, collaboration, and commitment to advancing patient care.
Special recognition goes to Mr Rodney Studd, who continues to lead the program and has performed a significant proportion of these cases. Alongside him, Dr Anju Basu and Dr Omid Yassaie have been instrumental in driving the growth and success of robotic surgery, each contributing an impressive number of procedures and expertise.
This milestone would not have been possible without the collective effort of a multidisciplinary team. From anaesthetists and nursing staff to technicians and support teams, every role has been essential. We also acknowledge the contributions from Gynaecology, General Surgery, ENT, Plastics, and Urology, all of whom have helped shape a strong and evolving program.
Reaching 1,000 cases is not just a number – it represents innovation, teamwork, and better outcomes for patients.
Here’s to the continued growth of robotic surgery and the journey toward the next milestone.
