Are you a Registered Nurse wanting to upskill?

We have an extraordinary opportunity that will empower you to upskill and step into the role of a Registered Nurse Anaesthetic Assistant (RNAA). This will combine your expertise in nursing with the specialised field of anaesthesia to allow you to work across both roles of an RN and a RNAA. All the training can be completed on site and within your contracted hours.

What does a Registered Nurse Anaesthetic Assistant do?

As a Registered Nurse Anaesthetic Assistant, you will be an integral part of our Theatre team, working closely with skilled anaesthesiologists assisting them to deliver safe and effective anaesthetics. You will join a well-established team of anaesthetic technicians and other RNAA’s.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting in the preparation and maintenance of anaesthesia equipment and supplies.
• Collaborating with the anaesthesia team to ensure a smooth flow of patient care during surgical procedures.
• Monitoring patients’ vital signs, anaesthesia levels, and responses throughout the anaesthesia process.
• Providing direct patient care and support before, during, and after anaesthesia administration.
• Assisting in the safe and efficient transfer of patients to and from the operating room.

Where is this training available?

This training is available at our larger comprehensive hospitals, Wakefield and Bowen Hospitals both located in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington and Royston Hospital in Heretaunga Hastings. If you aren’t already living in these regions, Evolution can help with your relocation costs through our relocation assistance. 

Relocation assistance

Evolution may contribute towards approved expenses incurred by approved employees and accompanying family member(s) for the following:

• Removal of effects. Employees will be responsible for their own storage and insurance arrangements.
• Travel costs
  • airfares at economy class
  • if relocating within NZ reimbursement for a vehicle being driven to the new location will be made on the basis of the IRD per kilometre rate
• Accommodation assistance in a serviced apartment or similar Assistance with obtaining or maintaining a relevant working visa assessed on a case-by-case basis.

The relocation package will be no more than:

• $6,000 for domestic relocation*

*For Anaesthetic Technicians and RNAA or Registered Nurses accepted into training as a RNAA to Wakefield, Bowen, or Royston Hospitals within Evolution Healthcare Group
