Francisco is a New Zealand-trained ENT surgeon with special interests in head & neck cancer surgery, sleep surgery and rhinology.
After graduating medical school, he obtained a Masters in Human Anatomy from the University of Edinburgh, with a particular focus on nasal and sinus anatomy. He then went on to ENT training and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Following this, he completed a prestigious fellowship in head & neck cancer surgery at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, treating a wide range of cancers as well as benign conditions. He stayed on at the Royal Melbourne as a consultant surgeon, as well as becoming part of a busy private practice with a focus on sleep surgery. However, the call of home was strong, and he has returned to Wellington to continue his practice.
Dr Francisco starts on 12 February at Bowen Hospital.
