Mr Richards consults on all areas of adult and paediatric spinal surgery, general orthopaedics and trauma as well as primary hip and knee arthroplasty.
Mr Richards is a graduate of Otago Medical School and of the New Zealand Orthopaedic Association training programme. He finished his advanced orthopaedic training in Wellington. Sub-specialty training occurred at Royal Adelaide Hospital, Australia, as a combined neuro/ortho spinal fellow for one year including adult and paediatric spinal surgery. He also trained in the spinal unit at CHU Pellegrin, Bordeaux, France for complex adult deformity surgery as well as a short AO spinal fellowship at Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham, UK.
Mr Richards is a Spinal Specialist who is consulting at Wellington Orthopaedic and Sports Surgeons, Bowen Specialist Centre and also has a public consultant position at CCDHB, Wellington Hospital.
