Employee Relocation Policy

Here at Evolution Healthcare we have the pleasure of welcoming exceptional professionals from all over the globe. Whether you enjoy the hustle and bustle of the city or the charm of smaller towns with facilities across New Zealand we have lifestyles to suit everyone. Evolution is committed to ensuring that we support new employees having to relocate from either within New Zealand or outside of New Zealand to one of our sites.

Relocation Package

Evolution may contribute towards approved expenses incurred by approved employees and accompanying family member(s) for the following:

  • Removal of effects. Employees will be responsible for their own storage and insurance arrangements.
  • Travel costs
    • airfares at economy class
    • if relocating within NZ reimbursement for a vehicle being driven to the new location will be made on the basis of the IRD per kilometre rate
  • Accommodation assistance in a serviced apartment or similar Assistance with obtaining or maintaining a relevant working visa assessed on a case-by-case basis.

The relocation package will be no more than:

  • $3,000 for domestic relocation (NZD or AUD depending on country of relocation)
  • $8,000 for international relocation (NZD or AUD depending on country of relocation)

Requirements

Evolution is committed to ensuring that we support new employees having to relocate from either within New Zealand or outside of New Zealand to one of our sites.

This policy provides guidance on the level of contribution that Evolution may provide to an appointee’s relocation expenses.  While the policy seeks to contribute to the employees relocation expenses, it does not attempt to cover all direct or indirect costs.

Costs will be reimbursed after 90 days on the production of receipts.

All other costs are to be met by the employee.  The employee is also responsible for any statutory income tax as a result of receiving relocation expenses.

If the employee does not require any or all of the relocation assistance offered, there will be no cash equivalent made available.

Immigration

Evolution will sponsor the appointee where appropriate, through the process of obtaining a relevant visa prior to the appointee relocating.  The appointee is responsible for providing the necessary information in a timely manner to ensure all immigration requirements are met prior to arrival in New Zealand.

There are a number of costs associated with applying for a temporary or permanent visa, some of which may be paid for by Evolution under this policy, and some must be paid for the by the employee themselves.

Evolution may provide financial assistance to employees for obtaining or maintaining a relevant working visa.  Assistance will be granted on a case-by-case basis, and the level of assistance will depend on the amount of financial assistance already provided and the on-going difficulty recruiting for the employees’ position.

Resignation – Repayment of relocation expenses

In the event that an employee is provided with relocation assistance and resigns before completing two (2) years of service, a proportionate refund of the relocation assistance provided will be made by the employee.
