It is my pleasure to announce that in September Evolution Healthcare signed a sale and purchase agreement to acquire ABI Rehabilitation (“ABI”). ABI is an intensive, residential and community rehabilitation provider across the North Island of New Zealand. The acquisition remains subject to customary conditions, including regulatory approvals, which we expect to satisfy in the coming months.
As an organisation we strive to provide continuing excellence in the care and recovery of our patients, and rehabilitation services is an area of healthcare we are committed to across New Zealand. Rehabilitation isn’t a new service to our Group, through our ownership of Proactive Rehabilitation and Evolve Rehabilitation.
ABI services and ethos align closely to our Evolution purpose and of our services across the Group. With their holistic approach, the comprehensive team of practitioners focuses on empowering and supporting the patient and their family through their journey. This resonates closely to how we as a Group operate across all our sites in the provision of excellent care and our Evolution purpose.
I am delighted at the prospect of welcoming staff working at ABI to our Group and working closely with Christine Howard-Brown, CEO for ABI, once Evolution formally acquires the business in early 2024. Further information will be communicated closer to this date.
Yours sincerely,
Associate Professor
Simon Keating
